What should I wear to dance class?
The dress code (what to wear) is fairly casual for your lessons. You might want to dress up a little for the Mixers, Events and Parties, but again make sure you wear something in which you’ll be comfortable dancing.
What is important right now is that you wear clothes that allow a freedom of movement. For men, loose slacks and a loose, comfortable shirt is the best.
For women, styles vary, so just make sure you wear something comfortable like a dress, skirt combination or slacks.
Jeans, by the way, tend to bind.

Do I need to buy dance shoes?
As a beginner dancer: Not at first. Just be sure you wear leather-soled shoes that fit well and stay on your feet.
Sneakers or other rubber-soled shoes are not a good choice.
They are very difficult to dance in and can put a lot of strain on your ankles and joints. Don’t wear clogs, wedges, slides or any shoes with an open back You will end up thinking more about your shoes than your dancing!
For women, flexible heeled shoes that are not too high (what you would wear for a night on the town is best). Platform soles or stilettos come later!
For men, flat-soled (dress) shoes are a good idea. This will allow you to make turns without effort.
No street shoes: We ask you to, please, bring shoes with a clean sole and not wear your street shoes onto the dance floor.
I thank you for your cooperation.

See you on the dance floor!

Debris from shoe which have been worn outside could cause someone to slip and possibly have an accident.
As well, dancers do wear special dance shoe with thin sued soles which dirt and water will damage.
