How much do dance lessons cost?

Most likely this is the very first question almost everyone asks.

$54.00 per lesson. All lessons are sold in Program Blocks.

Generally Private Lessons, in Vancouver, Burnaby and area are about the same cost from studio to studio ranging from approximately $80 to $125 an hour. Although Private Lessons are the most expensive component prices are inline with other individual services such as tennis, sailing, skiing, massage or other personal training.

Some studios may include "free" group classes and parties if you are taking Private Lessons but this usually means you will pay a premium private lesson price.

Group classes usually range from $5 to $15, with $10 being the most common price.

Practice parties are similar also ranging from $5 to $15, with $10 again being the most common price.

Competitions, besides being a lot of fun, can also be a part of learning to dance. Prices for ballroom competitions can range from the low hundreds to several thousands of dollars depending on the pricing structure of the studio and the particular event.

So, what’s the catch?

Simple but not simply answered:

As with anything you purchase there are things built into the price.

For instance:

Some studios/teachers offer 1 hour lessons while others offer 45 minute lessons. It used to be that one hour lessons were the standard but now 45 minute lessons are becoming the norm.

My Private Lessons are an hour.

You pay for advertising.

I use only a FREE website.

You pay studio rent, lights and other office/studio expenses.

My studio is part of my home so minimal overhead.

You pay, with large studios, franchise fees (as much as 25%).

No fees at my place.

You pay staff salaries.

Would you believe I’m independently wealthy and don’t need money? Okay, neither do I!

The fact IS simple.

Extremely low overheads allow me to give you a great price. You get Professional Instruction and can afford it.

I get to do what I so love to do!
