It’s true!

We dance for only two reasons. They are: “To celebrate victory!” and “To attract a mate.“ We have danced with joy at the end of all wars. We have danced at parties, clubs and halls for such occasions as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and, “yes,” even the passing of friends. Where would an Irish Wake be without dancing?

We celebrated the “Hunt” and while the women were in the Cave cutting up Brontosaurus steaks the guys were outside dancing around the fire with the Big Screen TV and the Bud Light.

Not much has changed in twenty-five million years!!!

But really . . .

There are thousands of events that have formed and influence dancing so what I have written here is only a tip of the dance iceberg.

I hope you enjoy!

Thanks,

Robert

Dancing Is Life In Motion Performed To Music!

Swing:

The FIRST of life’s dances. The future in ALL in front and we will conquer the world while just "Hangin' out with our friends!"

Cha Cha:

The Flirt Dance! That knowing glace across the room, has caught the eye and we pursue and playfully chase our partner.

Rumba:

The Dance of Romance! Our kinship has moved to the next level and Love is in the air!

Foxtrot:

The Stroll along the Boardwalk! A casual day of enjoying one another’s company while the rest of the world rushes on past us!

Waltz:

The Grand Dance of Ballroom. The great moments of life are portrayed on the dance floor. Panicles of success and depth of failure, emotions of joy and distress all woven into the fabric of the Waltz.

Tango:

The Agreement to Disagree! Definitely NOT an argument. The wills and strengths of two people both with a desire to achieve a common bond while keeping their own identity.

The very idea of dancing is drawn from our base emotions. We reach into our feelings and bring them out in the form of movement. On the theater stage we try to adapt dancing to tell stories. So, it stands to reason that, each time we dance and the dance we perform should have its own persona!
