What are you waiting for, . . . her to ask?

Some guys love to dance. Some don’t. ALL MEN SHOULD!

Pay attention here guys, there is just SOMETHING about men who can dance and here are a few:

1. If you are dating it makes it more fun. There is likely to come a time when you are at an event where dancing would be the logical thing to do. Whether it is a night club or a party, if there is music playing and other people dancing your date is likely to want you to dance with her. If you know how, you are likely to have fun.

Every man should learn to dance!

3. Please your lady! Most girls like to dance. She may not dance exactly what you have learned but most dances have many similarities so your basics should cover most situations. She will appreciate you!

4. Dancing reduces awkward moments. What a great "Ice Breaker" or conversation started by having some commonality in dancing. Even the slightest amount of dancing can get the evening going. An evening of "Dinner" is nice but "Dinner and Dancing" is so much better. After the dessert is gone do you JUST WANT TO SIT?

5. Real men DO dance! One little known fact among non-dancing males is that knowing what you're doing on the dance floor makes a man feel manly. There is just something about leading a lady about the dance floor, with finesse and flourish, that causes a man to feel romantic and suave. Debonair, if you will.

6. Looking for SOMETHING TO DO? After a while working all day and watching TV gets boring. Dancing is something to do. Most guys are fine for many years but eventually mowing the grass and hanging out in the garage gets old. (Not to mention your age!)

7. Stay in shape. Dancing is the least commonly known exercise. Of course it depends on the kind of dancing you do and how much of it but the bottom line is, any kind of dancing is more exercise than sitting at home on the couch.

8. Be admired! It makes women wish he were theirs. When a man learns to lead a partner properly on the dance floor his partner feels like the "Bell of the Ball!" This is so admired by other ladies and they may wish they were his partner.

9. Build confidence! Learning to dance and doing it well builds confidence in a man's abilities. It's just like anything else. Once you see you can do something and do it well you start to feel like you could do well at other things.

10. A "Self" Investment! Dancing is something that stays with you forever. Learning to dance while young, the skills will still be there years later for your own wedding reception, your daughter's or even your grandkids. It's like riding a bicycle. You don't forget.

2. Oh, oh, I have to attend a wedding. Virtually every wedding reception has dancing. If you know how to dance or at least feel reasonably comfortable out on the dance floor you will have a good time. If not, you get to set!

Dancing is its own reward.

There are many other benefits:

  • you will make many new friends and will find that ballroom dancers are wonderful people.

  • a lifetime social skill that will provide much joy and more active social life.

  • a great, common activity between couples which they can share and enjoy for a lifetime.

  • it provides fun, mental and physical stimulation and exercise.

  • boosts your self-confidence, overcome shyness and enhance your social skills.

  • exercise in a fun new way as you enrich your life and improve your physical health.

  • increase your grace and poise.

  • add more fun and romance to your life and to any social event.

  • attend parties, mix & mingle with ease, no more awkward moments.

  • you will be prepared to enjoy the romance of your first dance as husband and wife.

  • mentally, dancing serves as a wonderful stress relief.

  • the sheer joy of dancing.

This list of reasons why guys should learn to dance is for all those guys who are still "THINKING ABOUT IT." Hopefully you will find at least one reason to convince you learning to dance will be in your best interest and will serve you well for the rest of your life.

The images on this page are those of the men that performed on ”Dancing with the Stars” as well as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Why would I chose to be so brazen to use these photos? Simple, other than the fact they are “STARS and PROFESSIONAL DANCERS” they are also just guys with jobs. True, they are in the public eye but that does not change the fact they have the same concerns, problems and fears as any guy. You don’t have to be a “STAR” to dance but you certainly will be popular once you know how to dance.

The rest is up to you!

Fred Astaire (born Frederick Austerlitz)
